BALLOT PROPOSALS:

 

9-1-1 SURCHARGE PROPOSAL

 

For the period beginning on July 1, 2011 and continuing through the month of June in the year 2016, shall Mecosta County be authorized to assess a monthly surcharge of up to $2.25 (not to exceed $2.25 in the monthly billings of landline, wireless and VOIP service suppliers within the geographic boundaries of Mecosta County) to be used exclusively for the funding of 911 emergency telephone call answering and dispatch services within Mecosta County, including facilities, equipment, and operations?

PROPOSAL TO ESTABLISH FIXED MILLAGE LIMITATIONS

 

Shall separate tax limitations be established for a period of six years, or until altered by the voters of the county, for the County of Mecosta, the townships, and the intermediate school districts within the county, the aggregate of which shall not exceed 7.4293 mills as follows:

MORTON TOWNSHIP

LIBRARY BUILDING BOND PROPOSAL

Shall Morton Township, Mecosta County, State of Michigan, borrow the sum of not to exceed Three Million Dollars ($3,000,000.00) and issue its general obligation, unlimited tax bonds for all or a portion of that amount, payable in not to exceed thirty (30) years, from the date of issue, exclusive of any refunding, for the purpose of acquiring, renovating, refurnishing and re-equipping the current Township Library facility at 110 S. James Street in the Village of Mecosta, and acquiring, constructing, furnishing, and equipping an addition to the current Township Library facility and related site improvements, together with site and parking improvements at 201 S. James Street?

The following is for informational purposes:

The estimated millage that will be levied for the proposed bonds in the first year of the levy is 0.66 mills ($0.66 for each $1,000 of taxable value), and the estimated simple average annual millage rate required to retire the bonds is 0.54 mills ($0.54 for each $1,000 of taxable value).
